Stephen M. Berger, Esq. Partner

Stephen M. Berger graduated from Western State University School of Law in 1978, and has been a practicing member of the State Bar of CA since 1979.  He represented injured workers with three firms in Orange County before the Southern CA WCAB offices before landing first with Aetna Casualty & Surety Company and then Industrial Indemnity Insurance Company as staff counsel for two years at each company.  He then joined Gray & Prouty's Santa Ana office in 1988 and in 1990 migrated east to head the firm's Riverside CA Inland Empire office.  He remains the managing partner at Gray & Prouty's Riverside office, appearing at Riverside, San Bernardino, Bishop and when requested at Santa Ana, Pomona, Anaheim, Los Angeles and Van Nuys.  For almost 25 years Stephen has represented the firm's insurance carrier clients, self-insured employers, the New Orleans Saints, the County of Riverside Work Comp Division and TPA's in all aspects of CA workers' compensation litigation, including 132(a) and Serious & Willful claims for employer clientele.  He has been a presenter at numerous seminars put on for our clients and employer groups on latest case decisions, SB899, and other hot topics which come up in the workers' compensation community.  Stephen has served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Santa Ana WCAB on multiple occasions as well as at the Riverside WCAB.  Stephen is an avid sports fan and enjoys traveling to Hawaii when his busy schedule permits.
